Room twelve have been learning about Jack Marsden- Mayer  and  he makes driftwood  art.  We have made one as well, we made one, you could do love, sky and beach and all the other cool things he has made.  These are all the ones he has, I hope you enjoy  it.

Animal band reader's theater

Walt performe to an audiience

Success Criteria:

On Friday the 4th of September, Room Twelve performed a play to the whole school. It was called The Animal Band. We could play as:  
a cat 
a dog  
a rooster
or a robber.

 We also had two people to say the welcoming part and three people to tell the story.  Everybody clapped and Mr G said that the speakers spoke clearly and loudly, he liked Kaedyn's expression. It was very funny.     
         

We should not allow pets in school - Term 3 Week 4

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, fullstops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

Pets should not be allowed in school.            

I think pets should not be allowed in school.

     

The pets could get lost jumping through a window and they can also get lost on the roofs from a ladder on the other side  of the school and then they had to live there or they can get lost in the class back room at school.     

The classrooms will be full of pets as well.  

                                                

Another reason could be pets could chase you out of the school and make you get lost far away from school. They could chase you around the whole school and make you dizzy and get sick for a long time and they can chase you into the back room and make you get stuck for a long time.        

                                                

Also, when it is maths time, the pets can stop you from really important learning. They can stop you from a game and get you hit in the head by a ball or you can look one way and trip over.  If  someone gives you your computer and you drop it because a kitten trips you up, you are going to  be sad.  

Therefore, I strongly believe that Pets should not be allowed in schools.    

Skimming Reading Strategy - Week 2 Term 3

WALT skim

Skimming is when you flick through pages and see what it is all about and see if it interests  you. You also want to look for keywords and contents.  Looking for keywords means when you look at it, it makes you want to read it all the time and never want to stop.  Now watch me as I skim and show you what it is really.  

Area - Week 6

We need to know about area because when the builders come to build a house he might not have enough space. So say I want a 20 sq u.   We times the squares so it will be 10 x 2 square units. Area has square units, they can be big or small.  If you did 10 times 5 it will = 50 sq u  in the square. When you  know what the bottom and the side is you times it and then you know what it is.  

What happened to my eye - Week 5

A lone time a go i went to the operation theater it was probity a 9 minutes when i fall a sleep they went throw the rite eye and be hind my left eye when they went in my rite they Kate in it when i woke up my mum gave me 2 present one is 2 fairy's and my grandma gave me heels and Apple Jack at night i got to chose diner it is burger king the next day i went back to the theater and they took my eye parch off every thing looked different.  After that we went home    

A long time ago I went to the operating theatre.  It was probably about 9 minutes when I fell asleep.  They went through the right eye and behind my left eye.  When they went in my right, they cut in it.  When I woke up my mum gave me 2 presents.  One was 2 fairies and my grandma gave me heels and Apple Jack.  At night I got to choose dinner, it was Burger King.  The next day I went back to the theatre and they took my eye patch off.  Everything looked different.  After that we went home.

My operation - Week 3

In April I had an operation for my right eye and I was not allowed any jewellery at all, I had cream on my arm to make my hand num so I didn't feel the needle go in.  When I woke up I got 4 presents. One is the pirate fairy, the other one is heelies and a my little pony called apple jack. The last one is Emma's house, Emma is in lego friends.  At night I got to choose dinner and we had Burger King. It was yum.     I had to have an operation because my eye was blurry.  Now I can see a lot of stuff because my eye is now fixed.  Next time I am going to get my left eye operated on. 

My match sticks - Week 2

Last week room 12 did match sticks and we had to measure accurately and it had to be 60cm long and we only had 50 match sticks. We had to think about the starting and finishing points.

At the Hospital - Week 1

On Wednesday I went to the hospital to get my eye checked and I saw the man that is going to fix my eyes.  
When I was waiting I got to play on mums phone.  

My superhero costume

My superhero is Jacob.  He turns into a wolf and saves people, not all the time though.  He runs a little bit, he has a family,  he does not see his family.

Swimming

I learned how to…swim with a bucket on my stomach and lying on my back to the end of the pool.  

Something I found challenging was… breathing on my side

At the end of the year I would like to improve on…floating while I’m wearing a life jacket.

Mrs Miller, Mr Kenny or Mrs Lowe could help me by… teaching me how to stay under water a long time.

The best part about swimming was… going under water.

My buddy

My buddy from room 6 and 7 is Kirat,  Kirat and I got to play, but first we got a photo together.
